TOKYO: Toshiba Corporation on Saturday announced that its Singapore-based subsidiary, Toshiba Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, has set up a branch office in Dhaka.
The new office will allow Toshiba to establish a stronger presence in Bangladesh and to support the country’s continued economic development. The Bangladesh liaison office will open in June 1, said a press release.
The company opened its branch in Bangladesh considering the country’s annual economic growth rate that has surpassed five percent for the past ten years, and the country ranks eighth in the world in population, with approximately 1.5 billion people, officials said.
The Bangladesh economy is expected to continue to grow and to present many business opportunities, particularly in the infrastructure required to support economic expansion, including power generation, transmission and distribution and urban transportation.
