The South Asian Lawyers Cricket Cup, organised by Bangladesh Lawyers’ Cricket in collaboration with T Sports and Ace, concluded on Thursday with a grand finale at the Bashundhara Sports City Cricket Ground.
Lahore LCT emerged victorious, defeating Karachi Lawyers by 5 wickets with just one ball to spare while chasing a target of 158 runs.
Muhammad Abdullah was the hero of the match, smashing a match-winning 78-run knock during the chase.
Karachi Lawyers opted to bat first after winning the toss and posted a competitive total of 157 runs. Key contributions came from Muhammad Umar (34) and Asad Abbasi (33*), who ensured a fighting total with late-order partnerships.
In reply, Lahore faced early setbacks, losing four wickets for just 50 runs. However, Abdullah, in partnership with Muzaffar Hussain, built a remarkable 105-run stand for the fifth wicket, securing the win.
The tournament started on 20 December featuring six teams, with two from Pakistan and four from Bangladesh. Unfortunately, the host teams couldn’t progress to the final.
