Mastercard, in collaboration with Mutual Trust Bank PLC and Pathao Pay, on Tuesday announced the launch of a range of youth-centric real-time companion prepaid cards.

The cards offer a personalized and superior payment experience, said a press release.

The new cards offer seamless access to Pathao Pay without needing a traditional bank account, exclusive offers through Mastercard, versatile usage for online and offline purchases, easy one-touch payments via NFC, convenient ATM withdrawals, and real-time transaction balance mirroring.

Staying true to Pathao’s mission of ensuring financial flexibility and user-centric services, the new cards will allow Mastercard holders to enjoy a “highly secure and seamless payment experience” both in Bangladesh and around the world, added the press release.

Coming in three designs — Starlit Horizon, Purple Haze, and Sunshine Beach — the cards will also enable Mastercard holders to withdraw cash from ATMs across the country.

Fahim Ahmed, managing director and CEO of Pathao, said, “With Pathao Pay’s wallet-linked cards, a first-of-its-kind proposition in Bangladesh, cardholders will be able to transact the way they want, access funds when the need, and manage finances as they like. Pathao is far more than a brand, or a suite of products — it is more of a lifestyle.  These innovative cards will match with the dynamic needs of today’s youth.”
