BNP expels five leaders for breaching party discipline

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has expelled five of its leaders from all party positions for violating organisational discipline and engaging in “unrest, violence, and terrorist activities.”
The expulsion was announced in a press release signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Sunday night.
According to the statement, the expelled leaders are Ahammad Tayebur Rahman (Hiron), convener of Mymensingh’s Gouripur Upazila BNP; Tajul Islam Khokon, joint convener; Masud Parvez Karzon, member; Sujit Kumar Das, member secretary of Gouripur Municipality BNP; and Moniruzzaman Palash, joint convener.
They have been removed from all party posts, including primary membership, for breaching discipline and engaging in violent and terrorist activities within the party, the statement added.
