A week-long exhibition showcasing the “Bashundhara Medical City and International Hospital” and offering shares for public investment is underway at Hall-5 (Pushpanjali) of Bashundhara International Convention City on Purbachal Expressway in the capital.
The exhibition, which began on Wednesday, will continue until 15 September and is open to visitors from 3pm to 9pm daily.
It features a documentary screening on the project alongside details of its share structure, facilities and investment terms. Alongside selling shares, a handicrafts, boutique and jewellery fair is also being held at the same venue.
The programme was inaugurated by Ahmed Ibrahim Sobhan, Managing Director of Tanvir Bashundhara Group (TBG). Also present at the occasion were SM Shahidur Rahman, Chairman of S Rahman Properties, along with other delegates.
The hospital, in association with S Rahman Properties, is under construction on roughly six bighas of land in Block N, near the Central Mosque and Bazar Pratidin (Bashundhara City-2).
The facility is proposed to include 25 clinical departments, 11 specialised healthcare centres, 26 operation theatres and an advanced diagnostic centre. It is being marketed as an environmentally sustainable “green hospital.”
Planned surgical services include bariatric, cardiothoracic, open-heart, oncological, neurological, orthopaedic, plastic, reconstructive, urological and paediatric surgery, among others.
Specialised units under development include a genetics and molecular laboratory, a 30-bed dialysis centre, a 30-bed chemotherapy centre, ICU, CCU, NICU and PICU facilities, and a 10-bed international-standard burn and IVF centre.
Share structure
The hospital component is being divided into 2,084 shares, each priced at Tk60 lakh and backed by roughly 414.17 square feet of gross commercial space along with a share of 8,300 decimals of land.
Under a limited-time offer valid until 15 September, buyers booking with Tk25 lakh will receive a Tk5 lakh discount, bringing the effective price to Tk55 lakh per share.
Under the standard payment plan, buyers must pay Tk15 lakh as booking money, a further Tk10 lakh within one month and Tk5 lakh at the time of registration, with the remaining balance payable in instalments over 42 months.
It is projected that the share values could rise between Tk2 crore and Tk2.5 crore within three to four years of project completion.
Shareholders are also being offered tiered discounts on medical services at the hospital, ranging from 20% for those holding one to five shares up to 60% for holders of more than 20 shares, with proportionally increasing discounts for family members and, at higher tiers, guaranteed car-parking allocation.
Commercial units
Alongside the hospital shares, a limited number of 200-square-foot medical shops are priced at Tk75 lakh, with a Tk2 lakh discount for bookings of Tk25 lakh through 15 September. Doctors’ chambers of the same carpet area are priced at Tk80 lakh, with a comparable Tk5 lakh discount under the same booking terms.
Both categories carry a similar payment structure, Tk15 lakh in booking money, Tk10 lakh after one month and Tk5 lakh at registration, with the balance payable over 24 months.
