National Mourning Day observed in districts

The 44th martyrdom anniversary and the National Mourning Day was observed today at district level paying rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

In Narail: The 44th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day was observed here in a befitting manner.

Programmes of the day were included hoisting of the national flag at half-mast at all government and non-government buildings, placing of floral wreaths at the sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Old Bus Terminal, discussion, milad and doa mahfil, food distribution among destitute, screening of documentary on Bangabandhu.

In Netrakona: The National Mourning Day and the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed here paying glowing tributes to the memory of Bangabandhu.

Netrakona district administration, Awami League (AL) and its front organizations, Muktizoddha Sangsad, professional groups, educational institutions and different socio-cultural organizations took separate programs to observe the day.

In Gaibandha: The National Mourning Day and the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation and Architect of independence Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed here with due respect and honor.

Marking the day, district administration chalked out elaborate programmes that included hoisting of national flag at half-mast, placing floral of wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, bringing out mourning procession and distribution of cheques for the trained youths of Department of Youth Development.

In Panchagarh: The National Mourning Day and the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed in the district with due respect and solemnity.

Railways Minister Md. Nurul Islam Sujon, Md. Majaharul Houque Prodhan, MP, DC of Panchagarh Sabina Yeasmin, Police Super Yusuf Ali and others were present during the placing of wreaths.

District administration, Awami League (AL) its associate organisations ,educational institutions and government departments chalked out elaborate daylong programmes to observe the day in a befitting manner.

In Jamalpur: The National Mourning Day and the 44th martyrdom of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed in the district in a befitting manner.

The day’s programme included placing of floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu, rally, discussion meeting, distribution of food among destitute, screening of film and special prayer in mosque and other religious institutions.

In Manikganj: The National Mourning Day and the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed here with due respect and solemnity.

The programmes of the day included hoisting of the national flag at half-mast, placing of floral wreaths on the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the Martyred Freedom Fighters Memorial here.

In Narsingdi: The National Mourning Day-2019 and 44th martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed on Thursday in a befitting manner.

The district administration, Awami League (AL), its associate bodies, educational institutions, government offices, socio-cultural and professional organisations observed the day paying rich tribute to Bangabandhu.

 

 

The programmes included hoisting of the national flag at half-mast in all government, semi-government, autonomous, private buildings and educational institutions soon after sunrise, placing of wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu, Qurankhwani, milad mahfil, discussion and blood donation.

Hundreds of AL workers gathered in front of Zilla Muktijuddha Sangsad in the morning to place wreaths on the portrait of Bangabandhu.

Marking the day, a discussion was held at local Shilpakala Academy.

Deputy Commissioner, Narsingdi Syeda Farhana Kawnine addressed the discussion as the chief guest with Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) Abdul Awal in the chair.

The discussion was addressed, among others, by Chairman of Narsingdi Zilla Parishad Abdul Motin Bhuiyan, Police Super, Narsingdi, Pralay Kumar Jourder, Deputy Director, Local Government Division, ATM Mahabubol Karim, ADC (general) Mohammad Abdul Awal, Former Principals of Narsingdi Government College Prof Mohammad Ali and Prof Golam Mostafa Miah and former president of District Muktijuddah Commander Abdul Motaleb Pathen.

The chief guest Syeda Farhana Kawnine said the ideology of Bangabandhu could not erased by killing Bangabandhu as he would remain alive in the heart of the people of Bangladesh forever.

Besides, Narsingdi Town Awami League and Narsingdi Zilla Parishad also organized separate discussion meetings marking the National Mourning Day 2019.

In Faridpur: The National Mourning Day-2019 and 44th martyrdom anniversary of the Architect of Independence and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed on Thursday in a befitting manner.

Programmes of the day were included hoisting of the national flag at half-mast at all government and non-government buildings, placing of floral wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Govt. Rajendra College, discussion, milad, doa mahfil, blood donation and screening of documentary on Bangabandhu.

The district administration brought out a huge mourning procession with participation of hundreds of common people, high officials and local politicians.

In Thakurgaon: The 44th National Mourning day and martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed here today in a befitting manner with due respect and solemnity.

Marking the day, local administration arranged several programmes including hoisting of national flags at half-mast at all government, non-government offices, educational institutions and non-government buildings.

Besides, local Shishu academy arranged recitation of poems, painting and essay competitions on ‘Dream of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and present Bangladesh’.

A mourning rally was brought out from DC office premises in the town around 9:00am which paraded main streets in the district town. Later, a discussion was held at the BD hall auditorium.

With Deputy Commissioner K. M. Kamruzzaan Salem in chair, Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) Nur Kutubul Alo, Police Super Moniruzzaman, Chairman of Thakurgaon Zila Parisad and district AL General Secretary Sadek Kuraishi, among others, spoke.

Local government officials, politicians, freedom fighters and journalists joined the discussion.

Beside, district unit of AL organized day-long programmes including milad mahfil, distribution of food among destitute and discussion meeting.

Local administration, district unit of AL and its associate bodies placed floral wreaths at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s sculpture on the occasion. Ramesh Chanra Sen, MP, was present at that time.
