The five-week Math and Summer School programme concluded at the Asian University for Women (AUW) campus in Chattogram recently.
Powered by Chevron, AUW organised the summer programme to make young women skilled in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), said a press release.Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud attended the concluding ceremony as chief guest.
Director of Corporate Affairs of Chevron Bangladesh Ismail Chowdhury and Member of Parliament Waseka Ayesha Khan attended the programme as special guests.
Later, Certificate of Merit in recognition of the completing the programme was distributed among the participants, the press release added.
Two students — Tasnia Raisa Choudhury and Shorna Biswas received the “Emerging Woman Leader in STEM” Award for their exemplary performance and leadership skills in the programme.
A total of 61 female high school students selected from across the country participated in the programme.
Family and friends of the students also attended the closing ceremony.
