College student's slit-throat body found in Jashore

BENAPOLE: Police recovered a throat slit body of a college student from Ghasban area beside the Bhairab river in Jashore town on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Sohagh Hossain, 18, son of Habibur Rahman of Mollahpara Amtala area and also a second-year student of Hamidpur Degree College.

On Sunday night around 9:00 pm, some youths called him from his house and did not return home.

The deceased’s brother, Milon Hossain, said that last night, a young man named Raihan called him over cell phone.

Basudev Roy a resident beside the river said that a young man was lying in to grass when he was cutting grass in the river around 9.30 am on Monday.

The body was throat slit and stabbed in several places in the chest.

Kotwali Model Police Station has recovered the body of Sohagh Hossain and sent it to Jashore General Hospital for autopsy.

A case was filed.
