Established in 2012 (after originating as BIFT in 2000), BUFT’s modern campus at Nishatnagar, beside the Turag River, spans 15 bighas with a 10-storey academic building covering more than 500,000 square feet. The campus features 72 multimedia classrooms, 43 advanced laboratories, CAD studios equipped with Lectra and Gerber software, a fabric and garment testing lab, a photography and production studio, gymnasium, swimming pool, medical center, cafeteria, and a dedicated hostel for female students—all under full Wi-Fi coverage.

Under 7 faculties, 12 departments, and 1 institute, BUFT offers 23 degree programs – ranging from undergraduate to postgraduate levels—as well as diploma and certificate courses. Areas of study include Apparel Merchandising, Textile Engineering, Knitwear Engineering, Fashion Design, Environmental Science, Business Administration, and English. More than 239 faculty members, including 45 PhD holders, ensure the perfect balance between theory and practice.

BUFT’s strength lies in its close partnership with industry. Students gain hands-on exposure through industrial visits, internships, and real-world projects, preparing them for the competitive job market. International collaborations with 39 universities and organizations across 12 countries, including Australia, the UK, China, Germany, and Malaysia, allow students to pursue exchange programs, joint research, and scholarships.

The university actively participates in international research projects like Delphi, Nuffic Niche, Smart 2020, and Step Up+, reinforcing its position as a globally connected institution of higher learning.
