Holy Ramadan begins on Wednesday in Saudi Arabia

The crescent moon marking the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan has been sighted in Saudi Arabia, the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia announced on Tuesday.

As a result, the holy month of Ramadan began on Wednesday. During this period, Muslims observe fasting from dawn to dusk, refraining from eating and drinking throughout daylight hours.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is observed by Muslims around the world as a time of fasting, prayer, spiritual reflection, and community.

It is also believed to be the month during which the Holy Qur’an was revealed to Prophet Muhammad.

The holy month will conclude with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, one of the most important religious festivals for Muslims.
