Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan to sign defence pact Friday

Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan will sign a joint defence agreement in Saudi Arabia on Friday, two regional sources with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters.

A source close to the Saudi government also confirmed to AFP that the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey will hold a summit on Friday in Jeddah.

Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, Pakistani Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif and Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan are to meet amid growing regional tensions. The meeting comes with Iran and the United States locked in a showdown on reopening the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
