Scholastica student wins Commonwealth award

A student of Scholastica School has clinched a ‘silver award’ in the international Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition-2023.

Tenth grader Wasiq Ahnaf Chowdhury has recently secured the prestigious award for his essay on ‘Does age matter?’
Royal Commonwealth Society (RCS) hosted the competition.

The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition asks entrants to explore the power young people hold within the global community and consider how this power can be harnessed to make a meaningful impact in the world.

The competition witnessed a substantial influx of entries from young individuals spanning the Commonwealth, a testament to its rich history of promoting literacy, self-expression, and creativity while celebrating the brilliance and ingenuity of the youth.

This illustrious competition, which originated in 1883, holds the distinction of being the world's oldest international writing competition for schools.
