Two Dhaka courts on Sunday granted bail to TikToker and content creator Abdullah Al Mamun alias Prince Mamun in two separate cases filed over allegations of assaulting his wife over dowry demands and attempting suicide.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rounak Jahan Taki
granted him bail in the assault case, while Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbub Alam
granted him bail in the attempted suicide case.
Mamun’s lawyer Palash Roy confirmed the development,
saying there is no bar to his release as there are no other cases pending
against him.
Earlier, on 24 July, Prince Mamun was sent to jail
in a case filed by his wife, Atikia Faizah Mohona, over allegations of
demanding dowry and assaulting her.
Mohona filed another case against Mamun over
allegations that he attempted to commit suicide late at night on 23 July by
wrapping a saree around a ceiling fan while going live on Facebook. He was
shown arrested in the case on 29 July.
